It is evident that music can trigger emotions... we are all guilty of shedding a tear or two whilst listening to a slow Adele song!
When it comes to thinking about making my video, I thought it was extremely important to research the way music can make people feel, and how it can trigger different emotions. 'The brain imposes structure and order on a sequence of sound that, in effect, creates an entirely new system of meaning' (Mohana, M 2015). Therefore, with the help of appropriate music, I want it to fit perfectly with the visuals in help of creating an entirely new outlook on same sex marriage and how the audience perceives it. I have had many different thoughts about what genre music I would like to be played, as I want it to connect on a sympathetic level; however, I don't want it to be depressing!
'Music, though it appears to be similar to features of language, is more rooted in the primitive brain structures that are involved in motivation, reward and emotion' (Mohana, M 2015). As music can connect to someones brain on a level that language cannot, it is extremely crucial that the music chosen for this video is perfect, as I am really aiming to change the way people feel.
