Obviously religion plays an extremely large role in the reasoning as to why people are non accepting of same sex marriage. I know it is an extremely touchy subject, and I would never want to disrespect anyones religion. An article written by The Guardian states, 'The American "religious freedom" movement has made its debut on the Australian political stage' (Croome, R 2015). Throughout the thought process of creating a promotional video based on same sex marriage, I was quite cautious about the whole religious side of things; however, my personal belief is that no matter who you are, you should have the right to marry the person you love. 'The religious freedom movement arose in the US as the final act of defiance by some conservative Christians in the face of more and more states allowing same-sex marriages. It seeks to establish a legal right to refuse services, mostly to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and interest people, on the basis of the service provider's religious conscience' (Croome, R 2015). Therefore, I have decided that I would like the promotional video to be shot in a cafe/restaurant sort of setting; although, I understand it will be quite difficult to get owners permission to do so!
