New media, to me, is a quite difficult term to describe. When I think of 'new media', I think about all the technologies that continue to evolve.
When I think of new media, I think about children watching movies on their iPads, or even people reading books on their phones. However, to children, this wouldn't be new media... this would simply be what a video player was to me when I was younger. As spoken about in the lecture, all media is new at some point!
The main thing I think of when talking about new media though, would have to be all the different kinds of social media platforms! Social media is taking over our lives, both negatively and positively. Social media platforms have allowed people all over the world to connect with one another, being able to share things like images etc. immediately after they were taken. To me, I find it amazing that I am able to talk to my friend in America and send her photos without any delay
